I’ve let an anniversary slip right by… No, I haven’t been in Paraguay a year yet – but earlier this month we passed the one year mark since this blog began. I say we because as entertaining as I find this all, it’s you guys out there who continue to read it. 3,603 times it looks like you’ve read it. I have no idea if that’s a lot for a blog that’s about nothing in particular, but it’s good enough for me. WordPress has got this nifty little thing where they can show you how many folks are visiting each day, week, year, etc. So I guess May’s pack list post must have been a hit – it was the biggest day so far and either read by 77 of you or someone’s “refresh button” was stuck.
The past 12 months have been, well, the adjectives fail me – and I’ll save that for the next big anniversary. I hope you’ve all enjoyed reading all this as much as I’ve enjoyed writing. And of course I hope you’ll keep reading! Part of my “work” here is to help any folks back home who’ll listen, to understand Paraguay and Paraguayans a little better. Hopefully that’s happening. It’s a complicated rock we all live on and we’ll all be a little better off knowing a little more about the folks holding on with us – even if they are just growing corn and mandioca down in Paraguay.
I’ve tried to keep it interesting but maybe there’s something I’m overlooking – please, let me know. Who knows, you guys might be dying to know how latrines work and I’d never know. Or maybe you’re more into South American insects… I don’t know. Use the comment button and let me know! (and don’t worry no one else can see your comments until I say it’s okay).
And for those of you who feel labored typing the “wordpress dot” before the title of the blog – good news is here. You can now save 1.7 seconds (depending on how fast you type) by reaching this page at simply lunaticzen.com
The new shortened form is now also easier to cut and paste – like into an email telling a friend or coworker to check it out because it’s “informative, yet entertaining” and you don’t even get in trouble for reading it at work.
Thanks again for all the support and for muddling through the grammatical maze that is my writing.
Ciao,
